Smithfield Police tell WTSB News they are investigating a report that a woman was sexually assaulted and held against her will. The incident allegedly occurred Sunday night at a home in North Smithfield.
Police Captain J. Grady said the 28 year-old female victim told officers she did not know the alleged attacker. Police do have a suspect in the case, which has now been assigned to the detectives division.
