Police Need Help Identifying Burglary Suspect Who Started Fire Inside Business

SMITHFIELD – Police have released surveillance video of a suspect wanted for burglary and arson. Around 5:25am Sunday, February 6th, police responded to a burglar alarm at the 101 Smoke Shop on South Brightleaf Boulevard. Police found the front glass broken out and a fire inside the business.

There was extensive interior damage caused by the fire. The Smithfield Fire Department responded and contained the fire.

The unknown suspect took a small number of items before starting the fire. The individual was caught on camera leaving the business before police arrived.

  1. Looks like a female and they also knew where the security camera was. She kept her back to the camera and when she turned around she tilted her face down to avoid being recognized. Also notice how she pulled her jacket down because she thought it was to high. Guys don’t normally do that.
