PRINCETON – Princeton Police are searching for two suspects who robbed a downtown business, Wednesday afternoon. Around 4:15pm, Princeton Police and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a hold up alarm at Woodard Drug Store, located at 102 E. Edwards Street.
Police Chief Michael Smiley said two unknown black male suspects wearing dark clothing, masks, and sunglasses entered Woodard Drug Store and produced handguns. They robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and took prescription pain pills.
The suspects fled in a dark blue Honda Accord with tinted windows, black rims, and a 30 day temporarily license plate. The vehicle was last seen on US 70 headed towards Smithfield.
There were several customers and employees in the store at the time of the robbery. No injuries were reported.
Anyone with information about the suspects or getaway vehicle is asked to contact Major Daniel Toole at the Princeton Police Department at 919-936-8171.
