Police Seek Fifth Suspect In Selma Robbery, Shooting

SELMA, N.C. — Police are searching for a fifth suspect in connection with a robbery and shooting that occurred last month at a Selma apartment complex.

The incident was reported around 3:51 p.m. on Feb. 5 at The Meadows Apartments, located at 601 Ricks Road.

According to the Selma Police Department, a 21-year-old Selma man was robbed and shot while sitting inside a vehicle. The victim suffered critical injuries but has since recovered and been released from the hospital.

Investigators identified and charged three teenage juveniles along with one adult, 35-year-old Jermell Richardson of Selma, in connection with the incident.

Detective Sgt. J. Vause said authorities are still searching for the alleged gunman, identified as 18-year-old Shytez Richardson of Selma, who is the son of Jermell Richardson.

Police believe Shytez Richardson may be in the Selma or Fayetteville area. Once located, he will face charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Authorities consider him armed and dangerous.
