Selma Police are asking for assisting solving a break-in at a downtown business. Officers responded to a burglar alarm at 3:43am on Monday, November 23rd at Selma Jewelry located at 108 North Raiford Street.
Officers found a large vase had been used to knock out the glass in the front door. The burglar also used the same vase to shatter a glass display case.
A total of 8 Bulova watches valued at $4,300 were taken by the thief who had fled before police arrived.
Police Captain R.L. Daniels told WTSB News said investigators believe the watches were likely resold to individuals who did not know they were stolen. Anyone who has any information about the Nov. 23rd break-in at Selma Jewelry, or has information about the stolen watches, is asked to contact Captain Daniels at 919-965-8189 Extension 2003.
