CLAYTON – Police are investigating an altercation that left two people hospitalized, one with possible life threatening injuries.
Around 11:00am Friday, Clayton Police responded to a stabbing call at 248 Pinecroft Drive.
Officers located a person with a stab wound to the abdomen in a nearby yard and a subsequent search revealed a crime scene inside the residence at 248 Pinecroft Drive.
The individual located in the yard was transported to Wake Med with possible life threatening injuries.
Through further investigation, a second person was located at Johnston Health in Clayton with a stab or cut wound in the neck area.
Police Chief Greg Tart said detectives believe an altercation occurred between the two people inside the residence and are continuing to interview witnesses and examine evidence to determine what led up to this incident.
Investigators believe the two individuals are acquaintances. No charges have been filed at this time.
