The Smithfield Police Department will hold an Unclaimed Property Auction this Saturday, December 29th. Under state law, unclaimed property which has been in possession of the police department for 180 days or more will be sold at public auction to the highest bidder.
Proceeds from the sale will be turned over to Johnston County Schools.
Among the items to be sold include bicycles, DVD’s, wires and cables, jewelry, knives, push lawn mowers, a bottle jack, tools, electronics, clothing, personal care items and miscellaneous items.
The auction will be held Saturday at 9:00am at the Smithfield Police Department at 110 S. 5th Street in Smithfield. This is a cash only auction. All sales are final and items will be sold as is.
