A Princeton man was arrested on felony drug charges during a traffic stop on Brogden Road.
Johnston County deputies said they were responding to a domestic incident at a home on Massey Holt Road around midnight Friday, however one of the persons reportedly involved left the residence before they arrived. Officers spotted the vehicle in the 5400 block of Brogden Road east of Smithfield and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, identified as 40 year-old Lance Elliott Peedin of the 5000 block of Massey Holt Road, reportedly had three small bags of cocaine in a lunchbox found in his vehicle. Detective Lt. Mike Carson said the white powdery substance in the bags tested positive and Peedin also admitted the substance was cocaine.
Peedin was charged with felony possession of cocaine and felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance. He was placed in the Johnston County Jail under a $15,000 bond.
