Princeton High’s softball team, who went 24-3 this season, was recognized this week by the Johnston County School Board for winning the 1-A State Championship.
Princeton won the state title by defeating North Stanley (25-6) in a best of three series, two games to one.
Team members include Beth Braswell, Megan Bryant, Taylor Carroll, Takiria Cummings, Kortney Edwards, Taylor Flowers, Casey Mitchell, Brianna Myers, Kelsey Peedin, Emily Ricks, Natalie Smith, Hailey Wood, and Karlyn Woodard. The team’s head coach is Terry Braswell, the assistant coach is Ashley Braswell. Scorekeepers are Robyn Braswell, Carson Braswell, and April Peedin. The team’s batboy is Daniel Braswell. The team was joined by Princeton High Principal Kirk Denning.
