Ex-Employee Arrested For Stealing Pallets

A former employee at a Benson business has been arrested for the theft of thousands of dollars in pallets.

On May 30th and June 3rd, officials at AMWARE Logistics reported a total of 235 pallets were stolen. They were valued at $5,875.

Gabrial-Cruz-Cabrera-FILast week, Johnston County deputies went to a location in Harnett County and recovered 25 of the stolen pallets and approximately 2,000 pallet boards.

Gabrial Cruz Cabrera, 27, of Titan Roberts Road, Erwin allegedly told detectives he did not realize the pallets were stolen. He claimed he took the boards from the trash.

Officers said Cabrera was a former employee at the business but used a fictitious name on his job application.

He was charged with two counts of breaking and entering a trailer, two counts of felony larceny, and one count of resisting a public officer. He was given a $50,000 bond on the 5 charges.
