CLAYTON – A Princeton-area resident is accused of defrauding a 14 year-old juvenile who was trying to make some extra money.
Alesha Brooke Dixon, age 25, of Oliver Pond Road is charged with felony obtaining property by false pretense and felony uttering a forged endorsement.
Around October 19, authorities said the juvenile placed a for sale ad on a social media website asking $100 for a pair of Jordan tennis shoes.
The juvenile was reportedly contacted by Dixon who agreed to meet him in the Clayton area to purchase the shoes for $100. Dixon allegedly delayed the original meeting time but promised to pay an additional $20 because she was running late.
At the meeting location, Dixon allegedly handed the 14 year-old $120 in paper money and left. Due to the darkness at the meeting location, the victim could not see the paper money very well. Later, the teenage victim determined he had been paid with movie prop money.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office arrested Alesha Dixon on October 24. She was also served with an unrelated misdemeanor failure to appear warrant.
Bail for the two felony charges was set at $5,000. Bail for the failure to appear warrant was $500.
The 14 year-old, at last check, had not been able to recover his Jordan shoes.
I bet she didn’t realize that’s a felony. Now don’t let her plea it down.
The fact that she would purchase anything from a child without a parent being present showed her character. Now the kid is out of the da*n sneakers and the money. Such a low-life move.🤬
