Public Safety Aide Officer Involved In Traffic Accident

SMITHFIELD – A Smithfield Police Department Public Safety Aide (PSA) officer was involved in a traffic accident.

The two vehicle accident was reported on S. Brightleaf Bouleavd near Lee Street.

The PSA officer and the driver of a blue passenger car were evaluated at the scene for minor injuries.

Smithfield Police are investigating the cause of the 10:35am Monday collision.

Traffic was detoured for approximately 45 minutes while the collision was investigated.

  1. Well, well, well… Did they have to take a urine test, drug test and then evaluated to see if it could have been avoided?

    • As most municipalities require it after an accident, more than likely. Were you the victim or unfair drug tests? Why are you so concerned about a small town worker

      • Actually, safety officers are the one who judge you when you get into an accident or get hurt at work. So, yes I am concerned about a small town worker who judges other people for their accident. I also have never had to take an unfair drug or urine test. They were all required by the city and I am hoping that they hold him to the same standard.
