The Smithfield Public Works Department has received approval to purchase a new 2021 Freightliner knuckleboom loader truck.
The Town Council awarded a $146,546 bid to Amick Equipment for the truck, which came in under budget. The council had budgeted $160,000 for the purchase this fiscal year.
