RALEIGH — State Representative Larry Strickland (R-Johnston & Harnett) has announced that House Speaker Tim Moore (R-Cleveland) appointed him to serve as co-chair of the House Appropriations Committee. As a leader on this committee, Representative Strickland will put North Carolinians first and keep the interests of the people of North Carolina’s 28th House District of upmost importance.
As co-chair of the House Appropriations Committee, Representative Strickland will be a bastion of fiscal conservatism and ensure the tax dollars of hard-working North Carolinians are wisely spent while writing the state budget.
“The opportunity to serve as co-chair of the House Appropriations Committee is very exciting to me. I take the responsibility with great reverence for the trust that has been placed in me, and I promise to my fellow legislators and North Carolinians that I will fight relentlessly for the betterment of our great state. Writing the state’s $24 billion budget is a task that I do not take up lightly, and I will work to ensure every dollar is spent most efficiently. I thank Speaker Moore for his confidence in me to elevate my service on this committee to the level of co-chair,” Representative Strickland stated.
