CLAYTON – A man was hospitalized after being assaulted at a large party. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on Julio Lane, off New Bethel Road, around 3:40am Sunday.
Authorities said approximately 45 to 50 people were at a party when a fight broke out. The affray started after a 22 year-old man reportedly asked a girl for her phone number. That’s when an unknown male allegedly punched him in the face. Several others then joined in the affray.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of a severe laceration.
At last check, the suspect who threw the punch had not been identified.
