Report: Man Tried To Elude Arrest On Mini Bike

BENSON – A Benson man attempted to elude authorities on a mini bike. It didn’t work.

Around 10:38am Friday, Johnston County deputies were summoned to a home in the 100 block of Bailey’s Crossroads Road for a domestic dispute.

As authorities arrived on the scene one of the people allegedly involved in the dispute was leaving on a mini bike. The suspect failed to stop for officers.

Rolando Ismael Valdez, age 25, of the same address, reportedly fled on and off the highway on the small bike before he was finally stopped.

Valdez was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, driving without insurance, driving on a revoked license, reckless driving, and failure to wear a helmet. A blood sample was taken to reportedly determine if he was impaired.

The mini bike was seized.

Valdez was transported to the Johnston County Detention Center and held on a $25,000 secured bond.
