Report: Motorcyclist Fled From Deputies At Speeds Over 130 MPH

PRINCETON – A Johnston County man is facing multiple charges after he reportedly fled from law enforcement officers. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office DWI Task Force was conducting saturation patrol efforts March 30 on US 70 near the Johnston County line.

A task force officer reportedly observed two motorcycles driving recklessly through traffic on US 70 at speeds around 100 miles per hour. The officer tried to stop a motorcycle driven by Bradley Ivan Chambers, age 28, of Mudham Road, Wendell, a Johnston County address, but the driver refused to pull over.

The chase continued for several miles, during which Chambers allegedly reached speeds in excess of 130 mph before eventually stopping.

Chambers was charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, speeding 130 mph, speeding 111 mph, reckless driving to endanger, fictitious registration, no vehicle insurance, and no motorcycle endorsement. He was given a $15,000 secured bond at the Wayne County Detention Center.

The motorcycle was seized under North Carolina’s “Run and Done” law.
