SMITHFIELD – Police are investigating the alleged robbery of a 56 year-old man. It happened around 1:30am Saturday. The victim told police he was just left a nearby store and was walking along Kay Drive, off S. Brightleaf Boulevard.
The victim claimed three young male suspects jumped him and reportedly stole a necklace, cell phone, lottery ticket, and marijuana. The marijuana was valued at $20.
The robbery report has been assigned to a detective.
The three suspects, at last report, have not been identified. No injuries were reported.
