Smithfield Police are investigating the robbery of an employee at a local fast food business, however, they do not have any evidence linking the holdup to two other restaurant robberies in town in recent weeks.
Around 9:00pm Friday, an employee was leaving Crazy Taco, located at 911 South Fifth Street, just off Brogden Road, when two men, one armed with a gun the other with a knife, approached the female victim and demanded money.
Police Captain R.K. Powell said the two suspects, both black males, fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.
The victim was not injured. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the Smithfield Police Tip Line at 919-989-8835. Callers can remain anonymous.
