SMITHFIELD – Mayor Andy Moore and members of the Smithfield Town Council honored retired firefighter Steven Anthony “Tony” McLeod during their January monthly meeting.
McLeod retired December 31, 2023 from the Smithfield Fire Department after more than 20 years of service.
Mayor Moore presented a signed proclamation honoring Mr. McLoed for his dedication and service to the residents of Smithfield and Johnston County.
McLoed advanced through the fire department serving in a variety of roles including Firefighter, Engineer, and Captain.
There goes your wonderful mayor that you never see unless he is getting his picture taken and who spends all of his time away from Smithfield
