A 52 year-old Smithfield man was injured during a robbery today (Thursday). Smithfield Police said they responded to a call on Martin Street just after midnight.
The victim said he was physically assaulted and robbed of his personal belongings. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives are working on leads trying to identify a suspect.
