School Activity Bus Involved In Collision

JOHNSTON COUNTY – A Transylvania County Schools activity bus was involved in a collision with a passenger car while traveling through Johnston County.

The accident was reported Saturday afternoon on NC Highway 55 in southern Johnston County, near the Sampson County line. After the collision the activity bus came to rest off the roadway.

Several students on the bus reportedly sustained minor injuries, however no one was transported to the hospital. The driver of the passenger car also declined transport to the hospital.

Unconfirmed reports indicate the activity bus was returning to Rosman High School in Rosman, NC following a field trip.

Emergency crews from Johnston and Sampson counties responded to the accident scene. The State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
