Johnston County School Board Chairman Todd Sutton released a statement Tuesday afternoon addressing concerns raised about former school board member Tracie Zukowski. Those questions center around whether Zukowski was still living in Johnston County when she participated in school board meetings.
“The Board of Education and its members are committed to ethical and open government and we will address the reports concerning Ms. Zukowski’s change of residence. I have asked the Board’s legal counsel to report to the Board at our next meeting on our legal duties when questions come up about a Board member’s eligibility to hold office,” Chairman Sutton stated in an email to Johnston County Report.
Zukowski resigned Jan. 27, 2021 after announcing she had moved outside of Johnston County.
