The Johnston County School Board has tweaked their policy pertaining to bank deposits made by each of the public schools in the county.
Until now, each school was required to make daily deposits if the amount of cash on hand exceeded $50. The new policy increases the minimal amount to $250.
Officials said the change was made to assist schools from being burdened with frequent daily deposits as they work with events such as book fairs.
Regardless of the amount of money on hand, each school must deposit money into the bank the final day of the school week and on the last business day of the month.
The school system will still audit each account at least one time every year.
