KENLY – A Johnston County Public School bus was involved in an accident this morning (Monday) near Kenly. Around 7:20am, Bus 741 was traveling in the 800 block of Weaver Road when it was rear-ended.
26 students were on board the bus which was headed to North Johnston Middle School. A spokesperson for Johnston County Public Schools said four students were transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck that rear-ended the bus complained of minor injuries and was treated at the scene by Johnston County EMS.
Weaver Road between Highway 301 and Old Route 22 has temporarily been shutdown until the accident can be cleared.
