An elderly Benson man was assaulted and robbed of his car and money while at his home Thursday night. Around 9:20pm, deputies responded to a call on Turlington Road in southern Johnston County.
Officers learned the 75 year-old victim was at home alone when a woman arrived and during an altercation pushed him to the floor and robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money and then stole his car. The car was later found but the suspect kept the key.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said Friday the incident was not random and are looking for a suspect for questioning.
The victim in the case was not injured.
