Search Warrant Leads To Drug Trafficking Charges Near Princeton

PRINCETON – A search of an Edwards Road home led Johnston County sheriff’s detectives to suspected drugs, several firearms and approximately $3,800 in cash.
Narcotics and property crime detectives executed a search warrant Aug. 14 at a residence in the 700 block of Edwards Road near Princeton.
Authorities said the search turned up suspected crack cocaine, marijuana, oxycodone and MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), along with drug paraphernalia and several firearms.
Detectives also seized approximately $3,800 in cash.
The investigation resulted in the arrest of Calvin Antonio Currie, 41, of Edwards Road.
Currie was charged with two counts of trafficking in opium or heroin, possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
He was given a $50,000 bond.

A second person at the residence, William Earl Battle, 70, of Edwards Road, was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Battle was released under a $500 secured bond.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office investigation is continuing.
