The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an armed home invasion. It happened just before 3:00 AM today (Monday) in the 1300 block of Government Road near Clayton.
Two teenagers were inside when the unidentified assailants forcibly entered through a door and struck one of the teens, who had been asleep on the couch, several times in the face. The suspect then attempted to gain entry into a bedroom, however the other teen said he held the door closed and the intruder did not make his way into the room.
Authorities said a handgun was used during the home invasion. Investigators do not believe the incident was a random act. A description of the intruders or how many suspects were involved was not immediately released.
The teen who was struck in the face was treated at the scene by paramedics but was not taken to the hospital.
On March 14th, two men, ages 19 and 22, were at their home on Ranch Road near Clayton when two suspects, one armed with a handgun, broke into the residence, punched one of the men in the face and demanded money. When they learned the victims had no money they fled.
No arrests have been made in either incident.
