Smithfield – The doors to the Johnston County Courthouse in Smithfield will remain open, however, the following offices will restrict public access effective Tuesday, March 31st.
Child Support: Citizens will be able to make payments, access general information and email caseworkers at www.ncchildsupport.com. In addition, there will be a drop box located on the 3rd Floor of the Law Enforcement Center outside the Child Support Office for any information that needs to be dropped off. The box will be checked hourly.
GIS: Should citizens need assistance, they may email, call 919-989-5153 or go online at www.johnstonnc.com/gis2 to conduct business. Special arrangements will be made with each customer to pick up their maps.
Tax Office: Employees will remain available to assist taxpayers and citizens in the following ways:

If it is necessary to be in the courthouse for other reasons, a locked cabinet is in the hallway for payments and submittal forms. This cabinet will be checked on a regular basis. Tax relief forms are available on a table in the hallway near the Tax Office.
Register of Deeds
On March 19th, Register of Deeds Craig Olive announced public access to his office would be limited but would still be open for business.
