Selma Fire Department Pins Three New Lieutenants

SELMA — On January 8, the Selma Fire Department celebrated the promotion of three new lieutenants during a Pinning Ceremony held at the town council’s regular meeting. The newly promoted lieutenants are John Furr, Justin Godwin, and Walt Miller.

Deputy Town Manager and Fire Chief Phillip McDaniel addressed the council, noting that the promotions reflect the ongoing growth and success of Selma’s Fire Services. “These gentlemen will serve on our first fully staffed truck company, enhancing our ability to provide an efficient and guaranteed response to all emergencies in the Selma Fire District,” McDaniel said.

The Town Council has prioritized dedicated staffing and resources to ensure Selma’s public safety services are second to none. These promotions mark a significant milestone in strengthening the department and maintaining high standards for community protection.
