Republican NC Senator Brent Jackson won reelection Tuesday to his fifth term in the NC Senate.
Jackson, a farmer and agri-businessman, won the three county race for the District 10 seat over Democratic opponent Vernon Moore by carrying 62.5 percent of the vote total.
In unofficial returns Jackson received 33,260 votes to 19,939 for Moore.
Jackson led the ticket in all three counties: Sampson, Johnston and Duplin.
Jackson received 11,870 votes in Sampson, 12,096 in Johnston and 9,294 in Duplin.
Moore received 7,340 votes in Sampson, 6,604 in Johnston and 5,995 in Duplin.
