Serial Sheetz Soda Shoplifting Suspect Stopped
BENSON, N.C. – A string of suspected soda shopliftings at a Sheetz store has resulted in serious felony charges for a Fuquay-Varina man.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said Chad Darrell Hooker, 51, is suspected of stealing cases of soft drinks from the Sheetz at 13433 NC Highway 210 on several occasions during July.
Sheriff’s investigators said the suspected spree eventually totaled 55 cases of soda, with Sheetz reporting losses of $504.45.
Hooker was arrested Aug. 21 and charged with three counts of felony habitual larceny and one count of felony larceny.
Hooker was taken into custody and held under a $10,000 secured bond.

Chad did have a job.. stealing 55 cases of soda from Sheetz. Poor soul has a sweet tooth addiction.
How on earth did he access the cases of soda? Where was it kept ? Did Sheetz have it stacked outside, or something? This sounds really crazy, and just plain fishy! Sheetz needs more eyes on “that front door”!! Cameras? He committed these crimes in July , but just was arrested in late August??? Very fishy, someone is covering something up, I betcha!(and NO I am not referring to Law Enforcement)
He picked it up and walked out of the store with it as if he had paid.No! Not outside. Nothing fishy, just your normal criminal! Nobody covering up anything, that is silly LOL
