Sex Offender Arrested By Police

SMITHFIELD – A man on the NC Sex Offender Registry was arrested by Smithfield Police. On November 22 around 3:45pm, police said they observed Michael Scott Serevino sitting on a picnic table near the boat ramp and GreenWay Trail on North Front Street drinking a beer. Police said there were children present with their families.

Serevino, age 40, of Smithfield, is a registered sex offender. He was arrested for violation of a town ordinance against open containers and for being a registered sex offender in an area where minors frequent.

According to the Sex Offender Registry, Serevino was convicted out-of-state in October 2009 for Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault Sexual Motive involving an 8 year-old victim. Serevino was imprisoned until October 2020 when he was released.

Serevino was held in the Johnston County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond.

  1. Pedophilia used to be thought of as the lowest of the low even by other criminals, but oh how times have changed. Now he will be celebrated as a hero by those on the left. Perhaps he can go be another drag queen star to the children.
