Sexual Assault Suspect Facing 16 Felony Charges

SAMPSON COUNTY – A Sampson County man has been charged with having inappropriate sexual contact with a female juvenile. The incident was reported to the New Hanover County Department of Social Services, which forwarded the complaint to the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, after learning the alleged crimes occurred in Sampson County.
Following a criminal investigation, David Matthews, age 46, of Pineview Road, Clinton was arrested on 16 felony warrants. The charges include five counts of first-degree sex offense with a child, 8 counts of indecent liberties with a child, and 3 counts of statutory sexual offense with a child by an adult.
Authorities said the victim was under the age of 16. No additional details were released because the case involves a juvenile.
Matthews was confined in the Sampson County Detention Center under a $200,000 secured bond.

Absolutely disgusting. I hope the victim can get the help she needs, and I hope this awful human being can sit in prison for a good long time.
Put this animal under the jail and not in the jail. As far as the girl goes, I hope she gets help and will be ok. Prayers for her.
