Sexual Assault Suspect Held On $2 Million Bond

CLAYTON – A Clayton man accused of sexually assaulting two victims while they were children is being held in the Johnston County Jail under a $2 million secured bond.

William David Morrison, age 50, of Guy Road, was arrested September 23 by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. Morrison is charged with eight counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, five counts of statutory rape/sex offense, and three counts of first degree sex offense with a child.

In August 2022, detectives said the first victim, who is now an adult, came forward to report Morrison had allegedly sexually assaulted her when she was 13 years old. During the investigation, detectives reportedly found a second victim, who is now an adult, who said she was also assaulted by Morrison when she was 9 years old.

Authorities did not release what year or time span the alleged assaults occurred.
