Sheriff Announces Promotions

Johnston County Sheriff Steve Bizzell has announced several promotions within the department.

Lt. Jason Crocker has been promoted to Patrol Captain and will assist Captain Danny Johnson in overseeing the Patrol Division. This will allow a Captain to be available during the day and late evening hours, Sheriff Bizzell said.

Sgt. Richard Reliford has been promoted to Lieutenant in the Patrol Division and will be assigned to the D Squad. Detective Jordan Haddock has been promoted to Patrol Sergeant and will be assigned to the B Squad.

Deputy William McGee has been promoted to Patrol Sergeant and will be assigned to the A Squad.

In other changes, Lt. Rodney Langdon has been reassigned to supervise the SAFE Team. Detective Michael Lambert has been reassigned to the Major Crimes Division. Deputy Jonathan Gibbs has been promoted to Detective in the Property Crimes Division.

The promotions took effect on July 1st.

Johnston County Commissioners recently approved a request by Sheriff Bizzell to hire four new deputy sheriff’s to be assigned to the Patrol Division. Bizzell said the 4 new officers will assist in responding to increased calls for service.
