Smithfield – The date of the annual Johnston County Sheriff’s Office unclaimed property and surplus vehicle sale has been announced.
The sheriff’s office will hold the sale on Saturday, July 21st at 10:00am at the Sheriff’s Office Fleet Services Building at 60 Shelter Way off N. Brightleaf Boulevard in Smithfield.
A total of 16 surplus patrol cars will be sold to the highest bidder including Ford Crown Victoria’s and Dodge Chargers. Also being sold a, 2008 Ford Taurus, 2012 Chevy Caprice and a 2003 Ford pickup. There is a 2000 Ford F-350 4×4 dually truck with only 62,627 miles up for auction.
The Sheriff’s Office is also surplusing a 2000 Zodiac rescue boat with a 60 HP motor and Ace boat trailer that is being replaced with a new boat.
Unclaimed property seized over the past year will also be sold to the highest bidder.
