The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance identifying a man who robbed the Holiday Inn Express located at 105 Leone Court near the I-40 / NC42 interchange in Cleveland on on Saturday, August 1st, around 10:25 p.m.
The suspect entered the hotel, approached a clerk at the counter and demanded money. During the robbery, the suspect said he was “sorry but he had to.” The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. There were no injuries.
The suspect is described a white male wearing a white and orange ball cap, black COVID-19 style mask, blue t-shirt, khaki cargo pants, and tan crock style shoes. The suspect left in a 2008 or newer model Ford F250 regular cab pickup. The vehicle may have been occupied by a second person, possibly a white female. The truck was last seen leaving the area on Highway 42 headed towards Interstate 40.
