Sheriff’s Office Probing Theft Of Multiple Firearms From Residence

BENSON — The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of multiple firearms from a home in the Meadow community after the owner discovered the property missing.

The theft was reported June 22 at a residence on Reedy Prong Church Road in the Meadow community.

According to a sheriff’s office report, the homeowner discovered a gun safe, 10 firearms and an electric chainsaw among numerous items missing.

The stolen property was valued at $9,607.

No suspects have been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing.
