Friday afternoon, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced that autopsies have been completed on a mother and daughter found shot to death in their home at 450-B Perkins Road near Pikeville.
Deputies discovered the bodies of 39 year-old Diamond Lee and her mother, 58 year-old Mary Lee, inside the residence around 7:00PM Wednesday.
Authorities announced today that both victims died as a result of gunshot wounds to the chest.
“At this time, the Sheriff’s Office is not actively looking at any other person being involved in this case,” according to the press release. “There is no evidence that a third person is involved. All evidence gained so far indicates that this was either a murder-suicide or both had a suicide pact and they carried out their plans.”
A weapon was recovered at the scene.
