Sheriff’s Office Seeks Suspect In Series Of Selma-Area Vehicle Break-Ins

SELMA, N.C. — The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help identifying a suspect believed to be responsible for a series of vehicle break-ins reported across the Selma area this month.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, multiple break-ins have been reported between June 8 and June 22 in several neighborhoods and communities, including South Trail Drive, Langdon Chase Way, Live Oak Church Road, Sullivan Road, Madison Drive, and Carmil Drive.

Investigators said the incidents have occurred at eight separate residences and, in many cases, involved multiple vehicles parked at the same address. Many of the vehicles were unlocked.

Based on evidence gathered during the investigation, detectives believe the same individual is responsible for the crimes.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Black male with a thin build and dreadlocks that are typically pulled up.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the break-ins is asked to contact Lt. Joey Harrell with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000. Information can also be provided anonymously.

    • Imagine making excuses for all of the losers out there who think trespassing and stealing from people is ok because they didn’t lock their property up.

      • They shouldn’t have to lock their vehicles but reality is reality and well if you don’t want some thug to be able to walk up and easily steal from your vehicle then lock the doors. Most people lock their doors when they leave their house so why not lock your car doors when you get out?

  1. Just because it’s unlocked doesn’t give anyone the right to go in but PLEASE LOCK YOUR HOMES AND VEHICLES, STORAGE SHEDS, ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING THAT CONTAINS YOUR VALUABLES AND OR LOVED ONES!!! Better safe than sorry.

  2. Same guy that broke into my vehicles couple years ago, I hope they post who he is when they find him!

    • You should report that it’s the same guy so they can investigate him, my mom was 1 of the people stolen from and we think he stole from her house before

  3. Unfortunately, if they want in your car or house bad enough, they will find a way, locked or not….

  4. well when you’ll catch him make him pay for the framing of my garage door that he tried to pull off to get into my garage
