A 29 year-old Johnston County man was rushed to the hospital after he was shot Wednesday night. Johnston County deputies located the victim on Old Drug Store Road near the I-40 / NC 42 interchange in the Cleveland community around 7:00pm.
Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Caldwell said detectives received conflicting statements about where the actual shooting took place.
The victim is from Crockers Nub Road outside of Kenly. Investigators were still working on Thursday to try and determine the exact location where the shooting incident took place.
Authorities did not disclose any information about a motive or possible suspects.
The victims injuries were serious but non-life threatening.
