A shoplifting suspect is being sought by law enforcement officers following an incident around 3:40pm Tuesday at Walmart at 5141 Highway 42 West in the Cleveland community.
A female loss prevention officer with Walmart attempted to stop the male suspect who attempted to leave the story without paying for $80.91 in merchandise. The suspect assaulted the employee causing minor injuries. The suspect fled from the parking lot in a U-Haul truck. The truck was found abandoned a short time later.
A description of the suspect was not released by authorities. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
