Serve the Need in Johnston County, Inc. (STN) is hosting its 10th Annual Thanksgiving Community Sit-Down Meal. It will be held on Wednesday, November 22th from 11am to 2pm at the Civitan Club at 340 McCullers Street in Downtown Clayton. A second session will be provided from 5pm until 7pm at Clayton First Baptist Church located at 411 N. Fayetteville Street in Clayton.
Each year STN coordinates the sit-down meal serving approximately 3,000 people in need of food and fellowship. Local civic organizations and clubs, businesses and churches provide a full Thanksgiving menu including turkey, ham, dressing and gravy, green beans, sweet potatoes and an assortment of desserts and beverages.
The Thanksgiving Community Sit-Down Meal is free and entrance to the event is assured by picking up free tickets at the following locations:

“It is an incredible experience to witness such generosity and enthusiasm from the Clayton community each and every year,” said event chairperson, Richard Howard. “The atmosphere here is not one of deprivation, but of joy and blessing and sincere thankfulness from each and every recipient and volunteer.”
Howard goes on to say that if it wasn’t for the generosity of many local businesses and volunteers the event would not take place and that would be a real shame. “We count on the volunteers and the donations. We could always use more, so if you’re interested, please contact me and we’ll get you involved.”
Advance tickets can be obtained at the three locations through Friday, November 17th.
