Domestic violence organizations from Johnston and 5 nearby counties will participate in a Six County Silent March in Downtown Smithfield later this month.
Harbor, Inc. of Smithfield and 5 of their sister domestic violence organizations plan to bring awareness of domestic violence during the Tuesday, October 31st evening from Noon until 1:00pm. The event includes a 15 minute program on the steps of the Johnston County Courthouse followed by a silent walk around the block carrying signs to show solidarity.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month in North Carolina.
