Police are looking for an armed man who robbed a Smithfield business Friday night. The holdup happened at the Boost Mobile store at 1006 N. Brightleaf Boulevard.
According to Smithfield Police Captain R. Sheppard, at 7:24pm a lone black male in his 20’s or 30’s entered the business, displayed a black semi-automatic firearm and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
A police K9 was brought to the scene and tracked the suspect but the robber managed to elude arrest. No injuries were reported.
The robbery has been assigned to the Investigative Division.
