Smithfield Police are investigating a shooting incident that left a home and a car damaged by gunfire. Officers responded to the home of a 73 year-old woman on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on Saturday. The victim said she had been away for several hours. When she returned she discovered a window to her Chrysler passenger car had been shot out.
Officers at the scene also discovered a bullet had struck the side of her residence while she was away.
