Smithfield Signature Fresh Market Moving To More Visible Downtown Location

SMITHFIELD, N.C. – The Smithfield Signature Fresh Market will open at a new downtown location beginning this Saturday, June 13.
The farmers market, previously held in the Johnston County parking lot at the corner of Third and Johnston streets, is relocating to the Town Hall Commons parking lot at 350 E. Market Street.
Market organizers said the move will provide increased visibility for vendors and offer more convenient access for shoppers. Parking will be available at the market site, with the main entrance located on Fourth Street.

“This new location gives more visibility to our farmers,” said Helen Caloz with the Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation. “Being in such an agriculturally rich county, knowing your farmer is important, and this market gives our community the opportunity to do just that.”
The market is open from 8 a.m. until noon and features local vendors offering fresh produce, eggs, plants, baked goods and other products.
The Smithfield Signature Fresh Market operates every other Saturday through September. The season will conclude with a special final market on Oct. 10.

The market is organized by the Downtown Smithfield Development Corporation.
