A tenth grade student at South Johnston High School was arrested Monday.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said 16 year-old Cody Dwaine Messer of the 2000 block of Stewart Road, Four Oaks was arrested on one count of communicating threats, a misdemeanor.
Messer allegedly threatened to cause physical harm to another student at the school. Authorities allege Messer sent electronic messages to the victim communicating the alleged threats.
Messer was released pending an upcoming court appearance.
