South Smithfield Power Outage Reported

SMITHFIELD — A widespread power outage is affecting the South Smithfield area after a vehicle struck a utility pole on Sanders Street.

Town Manager Mike Scott said the damaged utility pole will need to be replaced, which could delay full power restoration. Officials estimate electricity may not be fully restored until around midnight tonight (Friday).

Utility crews are working at the scene to replace the pole and restore service as quickly as possible.
